  1. » Pediatric Neurology Programme- Rural Medica Camps.

While working in the rural areas we have found that people with epilepsy have little or no access to medical facilities. So Anaita Udwadia Hegde, the President of our Board of Management as well as our Hon. Pediatric Neurologist suggested we conduct a Medical camp specifically for helping people with "Epilepsy and Neurological Disorders" . A multidisciplinary team comprising of a Pediatric Neurologist, an EEG Technician, Occupational Therapist, Dietician, Clinical Psychologist

Dilip Prabhulkar our Occupational Therapist registering     children for camp.

and Speech Therapists got together to provide holistic interventions to affected children. This was a joint effort between us- The Research Society, and B. J. Wadia Children’s Hospital and the financial support was provided by Abbott India Ltd., a pharmaceutical company. Over 1100 children were provided with neurological, therapeutic and dietary interventions in 8 districts of Maharashtra. Free medication fro 3 months was also arranged for these children. We aim to continue with the follow up evaluations in the districts covered so far as well as to reach out to new districts.
