Case 1: Rahul (name changed to protect identity)
Background: Rahul came to The Research Society when he was 11 years old. An abysmally low IQ of 40 coupled with a bad stammer, fearfulness and insecurity about himself made life gravely disappointing for him. His parents were dejected and were on the verge of abandoning him.
Life today: With the help of holistic therapy, education and vocational training, today, Rahul today at 34, has an IQ of 115 and has transformed into a responsible, mature adult. Rahul attributes the positive change in him from the shy, temperamental child in class to the calm and composed, understanding husband to the belief, faith and encouragement of Mrs. Shroff and her team at the Research Society.
Rahul acquired his heavy vehicle license in 2000 and today is the school's bus driver, fondly known as 'bus wale uncle' and earning a monthly salary as per the 6th pay commission scale by the Government of Maharashtra. He is regarded as the best electrician on campus and voluntarily takes responsibility of all the recording work at important conferences.
He is also a very good artist and the fact that some of his paintings are being chosen for the Institute's Diwali cards, show Rahul has come a long way. He is happily married, holding a stable job and going forward we are certain he can do whatever he puts his mind to.
