Institutional Care
- Institutional Care: Residential & Custodial care (Since 1962)
By this time, we had children coming to us from within Mumbai as well as all over India and other parts of the world. E.g Thane, Pune, Nepal, Ethopia, South Africa etc. Therefore there was a dire need for housing them on campus. The Residential Section was started in 1962 and today we have approx.
40 students living on campus and attending our school or vocational classes. Some of our students are also part of the ‘Custodial Care Home’ which means their families have paid a deposit which entitles them to live with us ‘lifelong’
Our caretaker to inmate ration is 1:10. A full time cook also stays on the campus. We have trained nurses on campus as well as linkages with KEM Hospital, Nair Hospital and Lion Tarachand Hospital.
