From our Guest Book
I paid a visit to the school today and was much impressed by the work being done- work that has been and is a labour of love for Mrs. Vakil and her associates. I think this venture deserves every encouragement, both as an institution for tending these children than and for training teachers. Being the only institution of its kind in India, it is more than of local interest and should serve a larger purpose. I should wish to congratulate Mrs. Vakil and all others connected with this institution, which though small is large hearted.

- Indira Gandhi

....was much impressed by the pioneering work that is being done. Mrs. Vakeel has proved beyond doubt that mentally defective children can be taught and trained to do useful work and to look after themselves. I hope it will receive full support from all concerned, so that it can expand commendably ... "
- Morarji Desai
"Service to the community, quietly and effectively rendered, must always evoke admiration, but what I saw at Mrs. Vakeel's school went far beyond that, for it was both impressive and moving. The whole atmosphere was charged with a spirit of dedication, which has carried this Institution forward from the smallest beginnings to the present day. This fine effort demands moral and material support in order to meet the demands now made upon it. I hope that this will be forthcoming in increasing measure from the Government and also from individuals all over the country."
- Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit , Ex-Governor of Maharashtra

"One cannot help but admire the dedication and devotion of the management and staff in this very worthwhile activity. I wish you all continued success in your endeavour."
- Air Chief Marshal Idris Latif, Ex-Governor of Maharashtra
